但這版本還是沒有直接將 APE 的檔案格式納入預設的支援中，因此仍然必須手動到 Optional Components 下載 Monkey's Audio decoding support 然後丟進 Foobar2000 安裝目錄中的 components 子目錄底下，重新啟動 Foobar2000 就可以聽 APE 的音樂格式了。此外也有許多其他的 Components 可以在該處找到，安裝方法也全部相同。包括很重要的 Kernel Streaming。
