有玩 MUD 的人應該都有聽過一套 Windows 上的軟體叫作 zMUD，而同一家公司 Zugg Software 從今年六月開始釋出了一套全新的軟體叫作 CMUD，如今釋出 1.12 BETA 版，便抓下來試用 30 天…
第一眼的印象是，換成 Windows XP Style 的 Skin 了，但整體的內容與功能其實跟 zMUD 幾乎是完全一模一樣的，大部份的排版方式也和 zMUD 幾乎一模一樣…
試用後的感覺是…嗯，Bug 很多，設定完角色之後，第三次重新登入時便發生了視窗無法 Dock 在我想要的地方而當掉，之後便再也無法正常連線到任何 MUD 了…同時在角色設定檔中文檔名的處理上仍然有 Bug，顯然在這部份依然沒有使用 Unicode 來處理檔案名稱…
至於其官網所提到的 CMUD 特色主要包括編譯 zMUD Scripts 的速度增快了 2 到 10 倍、原本的 Scripts 完全相容於 CMUD、可以輕鬆分享 Scripts 等等…其實意思就是沒有什麼重大的新發明，只是介面比較好看好用了(?)，加強了一些細節的功能等等…
其實我個人覺得 CMUD 應該直接叫 zMUD 8.0 比較實在…
