原本預計前往台中幫二姊顧展覽攤位的假日，因人手足夠而取消。用了午餐之後，便出發開始一趟漫無目的的旅行，延路看到哪個中意的彎道，便轉入那個彎道，不知不覺走上 120 縣道。經過了內灣，買了杯焦糖奶茶後，拉下窗戶繼續往上。
到了尖石鄉，見到了一些泰雅族部落，接著隨意地彎了個右彎，渡過小溪，進到一條不知名的產業道路，開始奮力往上攀爬，直到海拔一千公尺左右的山腰，延途沒有什麼人煙，只有泥濘與坍方的路面。這時有點累了，便熄火停在路旁樹蔭下小歇，引擎聲消失之後取而代之的是來自四面八方的蟬鳴。先望望右邊窗外底下一疊疊的山嶺，再瞧瞧左邊窗外覆蓋在山頭上的雲朵，在夏日的午後山上吹的是沁涼的風。走出車外，看了看腳下的風景，拍了幾張照之後，繼續上路，但前頭已經沒什麼路可走了，便轉頭回到竹東，再往 122 縣道進發，到了五峰鄉，接著進到茅圃產業道路，見到美麗的景色時便下車駐足觀賞，可惜未帶相機出門，只好拿起手機隨意拍攝，此時天色已逐漸黯淡，便繼續往前走上五指山路，接回 122 縣道後返家，結束今天的旅程…
